New Life for Artist, Lawren Harris' Past Home

A house constructed for the renowned Group of Seven artist, Lawren Harris, gets a polished, modern re-build in classic black and white.  Bold design details were considered to be of the utmost importance in this design, exuding high style and dramatic impact.

“Every space was designed to bridge the historic value of the home with the conveniences of modern living.”

Natural wood and stone materials with pronounced grain and veining created dramatic focal points throughout the home.

The objective of every room was to create a single powerful emotion by leaving the spaces fresh and light and by injecting a bold, memorable feature such as a unexpected tile, exotic stone, perforated metal or patterned wood.

Material Highlights

Highly veined marbles, woven metals, soft wood tones, stone mosaics, black iron and onyx wall tile all work to create a memorable residential experience.

“The house also has a lot of modern technology: built-in speakers connected to a Sonos system, a front door and security system from Ring and all the lights in the house can be controlled from apps on your phone.”
